8.30am: a world white with hard frost: minus 6 degrees.
12.30pm: lunch on the terrace: 20 degrees in the sun. On the shady side of the house: still zero; central heating still on anti-frost setting.
A blackbird singing, in blissful defiance of the season.

Now listen. I've spent the day within a very few miles of you, and at no point has the temperature exceeded 7 degrees- though it's often been minus 7. What is going on at Grillou?
But isn't that what's so great about winters in the south of France: even if the shade temperature is c-o-l-d, there's still enough power in full sun to sit, in the middle of the day, in a tee shirt?
I agree. Our back yard is an excellent case in point. But nope, not yesterday. Not in St. Girons. Not in Seix
Ah well. Just goes to show we live in the right place then :-)
